Orchestra Supply List 2016-2017

Welcome to Orchestra!  We are excited that you have chosen to take this class.  We will be doing instrument sizing the first 2 days of school.  Students will be introduced to all instruments before they are assigned a specific instrument.
 
Please note:  School rentals are only available for Viola, Cello and Bass.  We have a limited supply and it is a first come first serve basis.
Period 2/ Beginning Orchestra
​Students will need:
  • Assigned Instrument and the following:
  • Instrument ID Tag- Put your name, phone number and class period on the tag
  • Rosin
  • Soft Cloth
  •  Violins/Violas Shoulder Rest for your instrument
  •   Cello/Bass  Rock Stop
  •  Folder plastic page protectors & dividers
          (3 ring binders are easier but not required)
  •  Pencil & pencil holder that you keep in your folder 
 (must keep with music not in backpack) ​       
  Book Purchase:   Essential Elements Book 1 for the instrument they are assigned
You may purchase these at Carlton’s Music Center www.carltonmusic.com  or online at www.sharmusic.com  (Closed on Sundays)

Concert Uniform 2nd Period Orchestra Classes  T-Shirt is in class purchase
Students wear long black pants and dark colored dress shoes for concerts.  Students will also need to purchase a music spirit shirt to wear for the concerts.  These can also be worn on Spirit Days at school.  The cost is $11.00. Cash is encouraged or Checks are made payable to LCMA Music.T-shirt orders are due by Wednesday, August 17, 2016

3rd & 6th Period Orchestra 2016-17
Welcome back to orchestra!  Here’s a list of what you will purchase outside of class and then there are some items that you will need to purchase in class and the information is listed below.  Please make sure you have all supplies purchased and in class purchases by Wednesday, August 17, 2016.
Periods 3&6
All classes will need:
·         Students will need their instruments the second day of school
·         Instrument ID Tag- Put your name, phone number and class period on the tag
·         Rosin
·         Soft Cloth
·         Violins/Violas Shoulder Rest for your instrument
·         Cello/Bass  Rock Stop
·         Folder plastic page protectors & dividers (3 ring binders are easier but not required)
·         Pencil & Pencil holder in folder that you keep in your binder
·         Personal tuner ( Snark & Korg are good brands) 

Book Purchase
·         6 Period:     Essential Elements  Book 2
·         3rd Period: Essential Elements Book 3  Each student needs to supply their own tuner

Formal Concert Attire 3rd & 6th Period Classes (purchased in September)
Students will be measured in a couple of weeks for their tux or dress.  If you want a consignment dress, then you need to check with the LCMA consignment shop.  This attire is required for all competitions and performances.

Orchestra Spirit T-Shirt All Classes (purchased in class)
Order forms are going home the first day of school.  These shirts can be worn on spirit day and on music field trips.  Parents are also welcome to purchase a shirt.  T-shirt orders are due by Wednesday, August 17, 2016.  Cost is $11.00.
